What do YOU believe?

These are my thoughts on a prayer I prayed the other night for a dear friend and I wanted to share it! May you be encouraged to think on things that are true and believe that God is who He says He is and WILL do what He says He will do! AMEN! God is all-knowing and He sees the deepest part of our hearts and needs. What it all boils down to is the fact that we make our decisions based on what we believe. And when we are believing a lie, we will continue to make wrong decisions. I was doing that and living away from putting God first and believing the truth. His truth and believing it, really believing that He is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do, that is the truth that sets us free to make the right choices and stop believing a lie.
God knew before time even began, the paths our life would take and the decisions we would make, good or bad. Does that mean we keep on choosing to sin? Only if we want what sin and believing the lie will bring, which is death. It could be the death of a dream, of a relationship, or of the perfect will of God, which is that we follow His word, and His path, a path that may be narrow and rocky at times, but ALWAYS brings LIFE and peace. I believe the reason our hearts are knit together as they are is because we are a lot alike, deep down.
God knows ALL about our hurts, habits, and hang-ups and He wants to deliver us from them all. But, we want control, we want to fix, to excuse, to manipulate it for our own selfish gain. And the Lord loves us so much, He patiently waits for us to come to the end of ourselves and really get that it's not about us, and it never was. It's all about Him, and His glory, honor and praise. I CANNOT take credit for any good thing that has been brought about in my life, for I know the depravity of my wicked heart. But, I also know God is SO much BIGGER than ANY thing I face or have to overcome. He can handle it all, if I will just let go and give it to Him, trusting in His Sovereignty each day, minute by minute.
There is power in His Word and I'm saturating my brokenness in the knowledge that His Word is alive and able to change my wretched heart. My prayer is that you will do the same. I believe the angels sing over each child of God who repents and believes. If we could hear their singing, I believe the song would simply say, "Dear child, do you WANT to be made WHOLE?" If so, Jesus is waiting for you to come to Him and surrender to Him your every weakness. I love you and want nothing but God's best for you.
My prayer is that you will believe the truth of who God is and what He wants and you will want His best too. May the Lord work in your heart and answer my prayers and yours, in His way and for His glory, even as I type this!! In Jesus name, Amen!
