Doing for ONE

At the end of a day set aside to worship and rest... my heart is broken and all I can think of is how I so long for Jesus to return!

I long for the reign & rule of Christ! I long for no more sorrow! I long for no more tears! I long for no more abuse, no more addiction, no more abandonment! I long for no more broken families! I long for no more bitterness! I long for no more deception! I long for no more pride! I long for no more divorce, no more death, no more destruction! I long for NO MORE SIN!

Someone once said to me that many children suffer every day because "good" people do nothing. God forbid!

What if each born-again follower of Christ decided to make a difference in just ONE child's life?

Although all these sad things mentioned above cannot be eradicated until Jesus returns, what if we would choose to live and mentor just ONE child we know that's without a parent, or that has parents who are addicts, or that are struggling in a broken home?

EVERY day, I see news articles, Facebook posts, mug shots, etc. regarding people who've messed up, some addicted to alcohol or drugs, some repeating patterns of behavior they've witnessed at home, some choosing a life of crime because no-one has ever shown them a better way to be and live....

Why not today, choose to be the one that says enough is enough?!

I cry every time I see mug shots posted of these young people.... somewhere in their formative years, they were failed... whether by parents, social workers, teachers, church members, etc. -- they slipped through the "cracks" and now many suffer...

SOMEBODY had to know they had a need, and yet they chose to look the other way, or they didn't want to "meddle" in someone else's "business"... to that I say again - God forbid!

If born-again believers are growing in their relationship with the Lord, I don't believe they can just idly sit by and watch as these young people are led down destructive paths.

I challenge my Christian friends to pray and seek God about how YOU can make a difference!

As I was so lovingly reminded yesterday (thanks again Deanna)... the TRUE realm of life we should be focused on is the spiritual (eternity), not the physical (the temporary).

We spend (waste) so much of our lives worshipping our spouse, our children, our family, our sports, our activities, our homes, our careers, our financial security, our bodies, our health, our hobbies, etc... not that there's anything wrong with any of those things, but our main focus should be furthering the kingdom of God, sharing with the lost the only hope they have is Christ, and then disciple those new believers to go and do the same!

What if every time we saw a family or child in need, instead of looking down on them or just feeling pity, we actually invested in their life? We became friends with their family, beyond just inviting them to church, we invited them into our daily lives?!

There are SO many ways to do that: Like become a foster parent... Become a Guardian-ad-Litem... Or mentor at a local school... Reach out to that neighbor, relative or friend... Ask a local prison/jail ministry how to minister to the inmate's kids... Volunteer at a homeless shelter, pregnancy center, or rehab... Maybe just pick a child in your church or community that you know needs it...

and while you're at it, guess what another benefit will be? Your own children will see you showing compassion on the less fortunate and quite possibly grow up to do the same!

We can't stop all the tragedies we see, but we may just be able to stop the vicious cycle of victimization and heartache for ONE!

My husband and I are applying to adopt a teenager and hope to adopt many... because no matter what the age, there is a HUGE host of children all over the U.S. that need a forever family... our mission is to expose as many of these children as we are able to a gospel-centered home, prayerfully leading them to a saving knowledge of Christ, then disciple them to go and do the same!

If you're reading this and you want to know how you can make a difference, message me... I'll be glad to get you connected to the resources you need to make a difference!

If you're reading this and you're struggling, addicted, scared, ashamed, or at the end of your rope... please don't give up! Call me, message me, comment... I'll be glad to help you get the help you need!!

If you're reading this and you think... what does she know about struggling or suffering? How can she help ME?

These are some of the traumas and tragedies I've experienced: (most before age 21): Physical abuse Domestic violence Sexual abuse Rape Divorce Infertility Emotional abuse Homelessness Addiction Victimized Financial Ruin Pride and self-deception Adultery Multiple losses/death of loved ones Bitterness Envy Unforgiveness Bullied Slandered Etc., etc.

I've been delivered from much, forgiven of much, and want others to KNOW the Savior I know!

I want to be a Titus 2 woman and want my friends & family to be all that God designed them to be. Oh to know Him more and to make Him known!

No matter what your age or status in life, you CAN make a difference in the life of one person... or you may be that one person that needs help.

Please don't hesitate to start NOW! I'm available always & look forward to seeing all that God will do with just ONE person willing to step out in faith, either to help another or to ask for help!

If you're breathing, it's not too late!
