Drug Free World

Let me preface this post by stating one truth about every type of addiction (idol). Every addiction we have is rooted in sin. Since we are all born sinners (without hope of salvation apart from the grace of God), ultimately, the only hope of becoming addiction-free (not just drug-free), is a new heart and life in Christ. All the education in the world will not save us, but the Lord may just use it to draw someone to Himself. Now, that being said, I still believe that sharing the truth about drugs and sharing the FACTS about their effects is helpful. Through fostering, adoption, mentoring young women, and through the lives of friends who have battled many addictions, including drugs and alcohol, I've learned more and more that much ignorance abounds concerning the FACTS. So, to share some very valuable education on the harmful effects of marijuana, synthetic drugs, alcohol, ecstasy, cocaine, crack, meth, inhalants, heroine, LSD, prescription drug abuse, painkillers, and Ritalin... I am sharing a link to the most informative website I've ever seen! They give, in detail, the TRUTH about each of them. If you're going to watch and learn something about drugs and their effects - this is a great place to start. Satan, the media, doctors and illegal drug pushers, want people to think it's no big deal. As someone who has had many friends & loved ones deeply affected by these things, whether through the destruction of families, the incarceration of loved ones, the death of those addicted, or those hurt by those addicted, I can say it IS a big deal!! My deepest prayer always is that everyone I know or meet, come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, and get to experience His peace, His overcoming strength, and His great salvation! While we may not ever have a "drug-free" world until Jesus returns and there is a new heaven & new earth, we can still pray for just one less addiction to be formed in the lives of those around us!
